High school running coaching is about more than just getting faster. It’s about building strong, confident athletes who understand how to train, race, and recover the right way.

Our high school running coaching programs work with both teams and individual athletes to develop speed, endurance, strength, and mental toughness across cross country, track, and distance running. We focus on smart, progressive training plans, injury prevention, and long-term athlete development—so runners peak when it matters most, not burn out early.

Beyond performance, we help athletes and families navigate the college recruiting process and the transition into NCAA running. From understanding race marks and training benchmarks to communicating with college coaches and evaluating scholarship opportunities, we’ve guided athletes through a process that has led to millions of dollars in combined college scholarship opportunities.

Whether an athlete is chasing a varsity spot, a personal record, or a college opportunity, our goal is the same: develop well-rounded runners who are prepared to compete, confident in their training, and ready for the next level.

Team Coaching Support

Our team coaching program is built to develop faster, healthier, and more confident squads from top to bottom. We partner directly with high school programs to create structured training plans, improve team culture, and ensure every athlete is training with purpose. From preseason preparation to peak championship performance, we help teams build strength, consistency, and competitive momentum together.

Form and Strength

Our form and strength training focuses on speed, efficiency, and durability. Through targeted drills, sprint mechanics, and strength work, we help runners move better, hit higher speeds, and reduce injury risk so they can train harder and race faster with confidence.

Season Planning

Our season planning takes the guesswork out of training. We build structured, goal-driven plans that map out workouts, recovery, race schedules, and peak performance timing so athletes arrive confident, prepared, and ready to perform their best when it matters most.

Coaches

David Carpenter

David Carpenter has been coaching high school runners since 2009, building athletes from early competition through collegiate success and into professional racing. His coaching develops speed, confidence, and long-term durability through smart training and strong fundamentals.

Baylor Franklin

Baylor Franklin is a high school running coach with True Performance Strength and a former collegiate athlete who competed for University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). He brings high-level racing experience into his coaching, helping athletes build speed, efficiency, and confidence as they progress from high school competition toward collegiate performance.
